Did I say that?

It's just really obvious in the books that Shae is only there for the $$$$ and position. And Tyrion convinces himself that it's ~more than that~, except lmao nope. It's not. And when Shae has an opportunity to look out for herself, she doesn't have any qualms about betraying him.

did this go down in the show or only in the books? I stopped watching at the end of last season but it was very clear that Shae loved him in the show.

The show changed the Tyrion and Shae relationship.

The books. She does love him in the show and she still testified against him. In the books, she was only with him for money and power.

You kind of implied it with "she was a prostitute, it's not her fault Tyrion loved her".

Anyway, it wasn't that obvious to me in the books, though I'm not floored it ended up being the case, either. And then you start to go off on the whole defending Shae thing and I have no dog in that race; I only made the comment because I kind of took issue with the prostitute remark
