I always felt really sorry for Chi-Chi, especially in the finale of DBZ. I know that she sometimes had a reputation in fandom for being shrill or demanding, but her husband was constantly gone all the time. She was a single parent for much of the series, and in the finale, Goku can't be bothered to spend any time with her at all and would rather go train the reincarnation of Boo than spend any time with his family or build a real life with them.

I think Chi-Chi and Pan should have all the fabulous adventures in fic possible for sure.

This seems to come up a lot (with different characters obv) and I've never understood this. Why does that cause you to dislike him? Can you not separate the character from the fanbase? Can you not do your best to avoid discussion/stanning/etc. of him online if it turns you off from the character?
