Why does this even need a remake???

Riiiight? I don't understand how or why anyone could want one!

seriously... it's not like some sci-fi or fantasy stuff where you say it would be cool to see it with real special effects. Princess Bride doesn't need flashier effects.
And doing a remake where basically everything is the same, the script is the same (because I would lead a lynch mob if they were to change the script)... I mean why? Not everything has to be endlessly remade!
Why not just rewatch the original?
