I mostly mean this in fic-related sense: Scenes or even just lines you love but can't find a whole story for or WIPs you can't seem to finish, but I suppose it coul be applicable to life in general, too.

Minibang Question

So I signed up for a fic minibang a few months ago. I got my draft done, etc. However, the person running the bang is having computer issues. Claims have been delayed and there's been no word for a week. My question is: how long is it appropriate to wait before I just post my fic and consider the challenge a bust?

Does anyone else think about weird stuff when they daydream?

Not too long ago I thought this comic was dead. More than a year had gone by since the last page update, and more than a year since the update before that. Time for a memorial service, right?

I was wrong to doubt. Four new pages have gone up in as many weeks. The last one was May 28. I don't want to jump to conclusions but I think it's back.

I made a secret about thinking "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" was a really great song, thinking that like 2 people might comment on it. I wasn't online the night it got posted and went on F!S the next day to find that it had spawned a huge amount of comments and even some wank (someone thought the song sucked. Others disagreed) and someone, I think chard, had shooped a "shipping" picture of the ship and Lake Superior. It was probably the most surprised I have ever been about a secret I submitted, lol. Anyone else got a story like that?

Cues in media

I am watching the newest episode of a show and I realized that whenever there is a shot on a person's face for a long time, I automatically think something bad is about to happen to them. I guess these are just cues I have learned from seeing them all the time.

Another one (that doesn't happen often) is when a scene is filmed in a car and it is filmed so that the one of the windows is right in front of the camera. I get tense because I think another vehicle is about to hit that one (Supernatural had this).

What are some cues in movies/shows/games that you respond to automatically (doesn't have to be something bad about to happen, they are happy cues to!)?
