I'll admit I didn't care for Chi-Chi when I was younger (and disliked her at one point because I thought her to be obnoxious). But as I got older and began to see the series through more mature/adult eyes, the more I genuinely felt sorry for her and began to sympathize/like her. She just wanted the best for her family (especially her sons), and yeah. Granted, I think she should have known what she was getting into when she married Goku, but the point still stands.

imho, she's one of the more truly underrated characters in the entire series.

And yeah, the ending to DBZ pissed me off as well. Ughhh... Chi-Chi is a better woman than I'll ever be, because I would have forged Goku's signature on the divorce papers if I was in her shoes, ngl.

*nods nods*

I agree with you so hard. It doesn't help that her frustration is so often played for laughs either; it's easy to dismiss what Chi-Chi is feeling because *the show* dismisses her feelings.

I love Goku very much. His innocence and his wonder and his joy are what make the character a beloved one; and yet, by the end of the show, I feel like he's more infantilized than anything else. It's a bit maddening.
