So this is now two secrets we've had about this movie being bad we've had in the past week? Did this just come out on DVD or something?

Anyway, I kind of agree with you. I loved the movie but it was in no way breaking ground or shattering conventions. It was an old school monsters and robots action movie, done really well and passionately. That's what was great about it, and refreshing in a way.

Godzilla came out in theaters and was fairly disappointing by comparison (too much talky-talky not enough smashy-kaiju - Kinda like Ang Lee's Hulk movie was too much humans we don't care about talking and not enough Hulk Smashing), so a lot of enraged 'Zilla fans are taking their frustration out on Pacific Rim by branding it as too trashy and undeserving of the love that it got and Godzilla isn't getting.
