Spidey was right about not giving him his blood, though?

Throughout the movie, he kept saying "might" that it just might kill the guy, but if he really cared, he could've checked or run some tests or anything just to show that he actually wanted to help even if it turned out that he really shouldn't give him his blood (which then would've helped Harry realize that he can't be helped by Spidey and there would be no Green Goblin and Gwen would've stayed alive).

Harry wasn't going to listen.

Peter even outright told him. "I can't give it to you right now, I need to look more into this and this is why."

Because Harry was bothering him and Gwen both for it.

If we're talking about this movie only, that is. From this movie's point of view, it wasn't Harry's fault as much as it was really just Peter's.

I know a lot of people might've known the older versions of this movie or the comics before watching it, but they could've made those who don't know about them see that Harry was really not going to understand because no matter how many times I watch that scene where Spider-man tells him he can't give him his blood, it still doesn't sound like a convincing reason (for someone who's dying). It sounded like he was really just trying to protect himself. Which made me feel sorry for Harry and pissed by Peter, because when someone is dying they'd literally do anything to save themselves and Peter/Spider-man was being extremely oblivious of that.

I dunno, was he? If my best pal was dying and my blood could save him, I'd at least get it checked out.

To be fair, after the lizard incident, Peter had good reason to be cautious.

But even then, he could have at least made some kind of deal, re: "I'll give you my blood, but if you turn into another monster/a psychopath/whatever, I will put you down." He could have made the risk Harry's choice. And honestly, I suspect if Harry knew it was his best friend - someone who wants him alive - who would make the judgement on whether or not he had to die because he was too far around the bend, it would have been a risk he was willing to take, and in that context he would have been willing to trust Peter and/or Spider-Man's judgement on the matter.

Or, hell, Peter could have at least told Harry, "Hey, listen, there was a specific genetic reason it worked on me, if you take it, then either it'll just kill you right away, or it'll turn you into a monster/lunatic that will lead to a faster death, anyway, because I or someone else will have to put you down." Even if the "greater good/danger" argument didn't work on Harry, the "it'll only kill you faster" argument would - Harry was trying to prolong his life, so if he realized this action would only shorten it, then he probably wouldn't have wanted that blood transfusion so much.

That plot could have worked without the Poor Communication Kills/Idiot Ball factor (for pretty much all the characters), and I'm sad to see they relied on such ridiculous clichés to get it through. :(

Yes, better to possibly turn them into a monster and have them alive and it be all your fault.

The thing that kicked me in the gut the most was that, yes, I think Peter did the right thing. And then as soon as he found out his blood probably was safe, it was too late because Harry, desperate for a cure, had already injected himself with pure venom.

Peter was damned if he didn't, damned if he did.
