Writing well is not some kind of moral obligation! Stop acting like people who wrote a bad fanfic personally wronged you in some way! Move on to one you do like.

Eh. I've no problem with bad fic. It's when the fandom is small and everyone's writing unrealistic fluff for your OTP that it can get frustrating. And lonely.

You're correct. I see my fair share of badfic but it's easier to x out and find something else than get all up in arms about it. (That's overreacting anyway and the author doesn't deserve it.)

Good God this.

I am so sick of people who act like bad writing (especially coming from inexperienced writers) is some sort of horrible sin that makes them deserving of being told horrible things.

Yup. Bad-fic happens, just close it and move on. No big deal.

True. But also, people don't owe positive reviews. It is okay for people to be critical of your fic. That isn't personal either.

I see both sides of this a lot in fandom.
