I love how people are clinging onto the supposed 'excuse' that it's too hard to animate women in a game. Hasn't anyone looked at the fact that having a female assassin would be historically inaccurate? But no, people want to shove women in the game because they want to make it more PC. Fuck that shit.

Ah yes, Assassin's Creed, that series known for its scrupulous historical accuracy.

DA

I've seen people defend it because it would supposedly be historically inaccurate to inculde female assassins in the French Revolution. Apparently Charlotte Corday didn't exist.

Well, duh, didn't you read what Ubisoft said? History is all about the white, stubbly males.

Ayrt

I did. And I also misread the reply Vethica had replied to when I posted this. I feel a bit embarassed now.

You aren't serious, are you? Look up Charlotte Corday

"Historically inaccurate" lol

did you somehow manage to miss the most popular rebutal to Ubisoft claim, which was that the most important assassin of the French Revolution was Charlotte Corday? Whose nickname was "the Angel of Assassination"?

Also, lets ignore the fact that a lot of assassin targets were men, thus the best assassin suited for the job was a woman pretending to be a prostitute/concubine/harmless woman because it made getting close to the target so much easier. Or do you honestly think assassins dressed and acted like those in the game? That they dressed flashily and did all the important assassinations of a time period?

There were.... a fucking ton of female assassins in history. What crack are you smoking?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-16 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Saying a female assassin is historically inaccurate during the French Revolution is plainly false. Charlotte Corday is one of the most famous assassins during that time period, but even if she wasn't, it was a historical period that saw the start of a whole lot of women's movements. It wouldn't be impossible for there to be a female assassin, or at least it wouldn't be any more impossible than having a male assassin who acts like the characters in Assassin's Creed. Since we're going for accuracy, and all.

Hahahaha.... wait, you're actually being serious? Go read more history, you ignorant shit.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-16 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
You mean like when they had a woman in a high templar position back in the crusades? That sort of historically inaccurate?
