Sometimes I feel guilty and hypocritical for enjoying my favorite male character getting abused every so often, but every time I hear on the news of women being sexually abused, I stop caring. Same for all the media I see of violence against women being done for the purpose of titillation, and going to places like 4chan where all the neckbeards gleefully fap to that. Humans are all disgusting and equally capable of doing horrid things, but a large chunk of the time it's perpetrated by men. It's hard not to have that skew my opinion a little even though I know that's being unfair.

That said, I'm appalled at any kind of violence done against actual people, regardless of their gender.

It's not unfair. The uneven proportion of horrid things is not fundamentally tied to gender, it's tied to societal power, but males still *are* at this point in time the ones with power in our society.

Now, if you were claiming that men are fundamentally more capable of horrid things, that would be unfair, but to claim that it's true practically/statistically? Due to the way societal pressures and systems of privilege enable that sort of behavior? That's not an unfair claim IMO.

More men are abused than women.

More men die at work, are murder, kill themselves than women.

Violence against women is a fraction of the violence that men have to face everyday.

Most girls I've met have never been raped.

I have never met a guy who wasn't physically attacked at school. Grabbed and thrown at lockers, beaten up, or otherwise harassed. And a lot of girls would beat on them too, because the boys weren't allowed to hit them back.

Women do it just as much and that is what the secret was about. Most people don't see it as wrong so they get away with it.

And what the hell is this (you are like the fourth person I've seen say something like this) thing about well men are doing it to each other . . . so it kind of has to be their fault.

So when a woman rapes a woman, does that mean no harm no foal? Oh well, it was just women doing it to each other, I guess they deserved it.

5 of my female friends have been sexually abused/raped at some point. My mother was also raped by my father, and he also abused me. This and half your comment is anecdotal evidence and proves dick.

If you factor it in on a global scale, I'm gonna have to call bullshit on this. It's again anecdotal, but I've seen far more abuse perpetrated against women and men at the hands of other men (by opening a newspaper or watching the news) than I have the reverse.

My comment does not imply this to be their fault what the fuck. I'm just saying men are predominantly behind a lot of violence and crime in the world, so this skews my view of them.
