...Upon reflection twelve seconds later, it occurs to me that this one makes sense as even a semi-common speech impediment, as l and r sounds are in the same language class (both liquid consonants--the only two in English), and are pronounced the same as each other in other languages. I am a native English speaker, but the two are still similar enough for me to trip up, I guess.
