Address books and manicure kits.

Address books are simply useless for me because I never have that many RL contacts to put in them.

Manicure kits never get used. The most I do with my nails is keep them trimmed and try avoid tearing. I really don't do nail polish.

I will also agree with all the comments about lotions and bathing goods. Maybe liquid soap would be okay (as long as it's a scent that doesn't totally disgust me), but moisturizer creams and "body butter" and such, I rarely ever use (I should use more, at my age, to keep my skin in good condition, but I'm lazy).

Clothing will probably never be the right size unless Mum buys it - upthread I commented about a terry-towelling dressing gown my aunt gave me. It doesn't fit.

Towels are slightly less useless (I got some from the same aunt), because while I usually use bath sheets (large-size towels) for my body, standard towels are good for hair towels.

Generally, those who actually know me know I do better with straight cash. If they want to be sentimental about it, they can put the notes inside a card.
