If they told you flat out it's because you're autistic, you might have a case for a lawsuit under the people with disablities act. Because, I'm pretty sure they can't flat out refuse to hire you because of it.

That's not actually how the ADA works, to my understanding. The ADA means that a company cannot refuse to hire someone who is otherwise qualified and able to do a particular job just because they are disabled, the key phrase here being "otherwise qualified and able." If the OP needs extra training that other people don't to be able to do the job, I'm not so sure the ADA applies in that case.
