The problem about that sex scene was that, taken out of the contexts of the books and only looking at what's on screen, it was rape (while it wasn't in the books). Yes you can argue they have fucked up dynamic all you want, but i the series she kept saying no until the end.

Then it was basically made worse by the makers claiming it was not rape and refusing the acknowledge they fucked up with that scene.

That, and in Jamie's arc, him raping anyone makes no sense. He lost a hand to prevent rape. It's just completely wrong for the character, whatever else he might be guilty of.

That's why people were upset.
