Sansa's arc got concluded almost as far as it has in the novels though. If they had put anything else in they wouldn't have anything left to get into next season.

I though D&D had access to TWOW material. At the very least, they know how the story ends iirc.

In point of fact, they have access to whatever it is GRRM wants to tell them. It's not the whole story that they've got, since GRRM doesn't even have the whole thing planned out at this point (now that they've expanded it to eight books and that whole bit of fuckery).

Maybe they have more of Sansa's arc laid out than we currently know, maybe not. What they certainly can't do is take the show farther than what has already been released in the novels, and what that is at the moment is... not a lot.

It hasn't been expanded to eight books though. They said it was a possibility iirc and that the editor's words were taken out of context.

Anyway, I bet they at least have access to what George has wtitten of TWOW and have enough of it for next season.

Really? I read an article that stated otherwise, but that doesn't really matter.

I still don't think they are really going to release anything that hasn't already been printed, which leaves book 6 out of the picture.
