I have been in a sort of similar situation, anon. And I have days where I just get really jealous and angry even when I see a happy couple holding hands or walking with their arms around each other in public, because I had a relationship like that once and I still really, really miss that companionship. I just keep it to myself though and make myself think about something else, and I think I am handling it the right way. Like others said - distract yourself, focus on something else, and don't make a scene, and you'll be just fine, because your response is perfectly normal.
