13. LOL OMG NOT A DIFFERENT FONT! When I copy and paste from word, it comes out in the default of Word, which is Calibri. Does that make me a pretentious twat? Oh noes! Get a life. Srsly. I do agree with bizarre formatting and large font sizes and stuff, but omg a different standard font! Some people....

The default of Word is Times New Roman, unless you're special and have set it otherwise.

In any case, if you're c&ping into LJ and it's coming up as a different font than Verdana, then you're c&ping into the special format input and need to start using the html input like the rest of us lowlives.

So, in this case, not pretentious.

LJ allows you to change the font in your journal, so if someone wants to change it for whatever reason, as long as it's readable and isn't formated all wonky, no one usually cares enough to wank about it, well... usually. If you don't like it, don't read fic or entries here and/or uninstall all other fonts. Simple enough.

I'm not even sure how your "secret" is a "secret". Fanfic rants and random bitching is a whole other comm.

Yes, it's your journal that you're messing about with, so you should change it to what you're comfortable with - but when it comes to expecting others to read it, like say, when you link to a fic you've written on a community, then it's not all about you anymore. Considering the amount of people that have agreed with me in the comments here, I'd say there's quite a few people that will simply not bother to read your work - as I stated in the secret, I'm one of them.

If it's a layout coded page then that's slightly different, but to have specific formatting done in on a default LJ page seems pointless to me. It says to me that the person has put work in to make the text come up like that, and now I have to put work in to read it - I don't see why I should have to when the default for LJ is legible and better for reading on a computer screen, hence why it's been chosen to be used as the default.

Like I said, I don't read the fics formatted like that - and why should I have to go through the bother of uninstalling all other fonts to compensate for the few who've decided to go against the norm. And it's not just fonts that's the issue, it's the formatting as a whole, something uninstalling fonts won't change.

It's a secret because it's something I have previously kept quiet, but have been able to say here due to the anonymity offered by the community. The same as all the other secrets.

Honey, no one cares about fonts, sorry. I have more important things in life to really care about than if someone posts a fic in Times New Roman or Verdana. And really, so should you.
