you don't see the difference? it seems pretty obvious to me.

normal fics are pretty clearly fantasy. reader insert fics, on the other hand, blur the line between fantasy (fanfic) and reality (the reader). it's not that strange to find it creepy and weird at all. it's the same reason so many people find rpf creepy too - fanfic on its own is fine, but when it starts to cross that line, that's when it starts weirding people out.

No I do not. RPF is different in that you NAME two RL people and have them in situations that they will not ever be in IRL. Character/Reader has one named person: the fictional character, unless it's RPF using a real life celebrity and you, the reader.

It is no different than a fantasy you day dream yourself. The only difference is someone wrote it out in such a way that anyone can place themselves into the fantasy if they so choose.

So, anywho, according to your logic, all teenagers are fucking creepers for day dreaming or even writing said day dreams down. Cause that is what these stories can really amount to: written day dream.

Fuck that logic.
