OP here. Oh, you don't know how glad I am to learn I'm not the only one who has noticed this.

I so want to point names, but at the same time I don't want to, because as you've said, the fandom has grown small in the last year and a half, and we haven't have wank in a while and I don't want to be the one starting it. But I think we're probably thinking about the same bunch of people. They are hard not to miss, however. They are the ones who are always complaining about everything. One even posted recently a passive-agressive and pretty manipulative comic about being tragically ignored by the fandom. Ugh.

But the thing is, as you have pointed out, my favorite writers from this fandom are the ones that are genuinely nice people. People like them because they focus in having fun and sharing stuff. There's a reason why people want to create more stuff around them (and it's not just the talent, talent can only take you that far). It's their open and kind attitude.

The whiners on the other hand... I can't read a lot of their posts before starting to feel physically bad, like they emit a black cloud or something. Their negativity is palpable and that is the reason why I don't read their fics, not because I don't "want to give a chance to new authors!"

Sorry, I got carried away, but it's just I've been itching to tell someone this for a while!
