That sort of makes sense to me. If I had a doll of a live person, I'd sort of feel a bit weird dressing it in the first place.

It's okay, getting it over something very stupid is diagnostic for Jewish guilt. If you start getting it over something genuinely decent and either harmless or beneficial, that might be Catholic guilt. Consult your doctor. Or rabbi.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH IF THAT IS NOT "TERMINALLY UGLY" I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS

AAHHHHHHHHHH I'LL SEE THIS IN MY NIGHTMARES

1. It doesn't even LOOK loook AFF to me.

2. That beige skirt ... on first glance it looks as if the doll is nude from the waist down.

Anon, I completely feel for you. My family left our Conservative Jewish community a while ago and I still have really, really complicated emotions over everything to do with Judaism. It bothers me that I can't simply enjoy anything that reminds of Judaism. It gets all tied up in my complicated baggage. I get uncomfortable around other Jews because I never learned Yiddish or Hebrew, and I still feel guilty about it. We had to leave because things were just getting not good.

It must have been even harder when you gave up Orthodox practices. Whoever you are, I hope I can find you. I'm just glad to know I'm not alone.

Heh, I'm an Orthodox Jew and I remember being vaguely uncomfortable about dressing my Barbies in non-tzniut clothing and pretending they were Jewish when I was little. In the end, I think I gave in to the pretty clothes and the long-sleeved shirts and skirts were just special wear for them.
