Ramona Flowers WAS fucking lame though. All anybody did was talk her up and she did nothing to live up to her hype.

(speaking movie-wise, I wasn't interested enough to read the graphic novel or whatever it was).

To be fair the movie is a jumbled mess. A mess I love, but still a mess.

The comic does a better job fleshing her (and the other characters) out but that doesn't make her likeable. Neither does it for Scott, and that's the point -- the only ones who aren't a total fuckup in that comic is Kim Pine and Scott's sister Stacy.

I thought Wallace was pretty sound as well. Though he seemed to often take a step back and out of the way of the hurricane that was Pilgrim.

Wallace has his own issues, though they're actually ramped up to cartoonish levels in the movie. He definitely seems to enjoy playing big brother to Scott, but he'll just as soon screw him over (which I guess is part of playing big brother...)

I'd just as soon punch him as hang out with him.

Oi, what about Knives? Once she got over Scott she was all kinds of awesome!

Very true!

Wasn't that the point though? She wasn't that great, but Scott loved the idea of her more than he loved her?

(I thought their relationship was the most boring part of the movie anyway. Everyone else was more interesting and the gags were funny.)

I loved some of the new gags, like the Seinfeld parody and whatshername always making dialup noises in place of profanity. "How do you keep doing that?"
