Don't know. Most usernames are non-gender-indicative, people don't drop any context clues, and I've never felt the need to look for more information.

Pretty much this. (Though out of the people who do specify gender, I see more women. Who knows about everyone else.)

I guess it also depends on what you mean by fandom, though? Like...are we talking about people who read or write fanfic, make graphics or art, or does just discussion count? Because in fandoms like Metal Gear forums seem to be full of guys, but I think there's a decent amount of female fans on tumblr and other sites.

Pretty male-dominated. Which I'm not very fond of, since a good majority of them focus on aspects of the series that honestly aren't that interesting. I wish more of them would look at different things than the normal stuff.

But the worst part is, the female portion tends to be full of either shippers or "omg I love this character he is my husbando and no one else's" and there's hardly any mature female fans.

Ugh. Yes. It's especially bad when it's a canon that doesn't have any romance in it in the first place.

Well I wouldn't really know since I don't really know a whole lot about fandoms of things I like, but I know here it is fairly female dominated.

I'm in both, though I'm more active in female-dominated ones, as I like the fanfic.

Dunno, really. Depends on the fandom. Some seem to be more female dominated, some split, and some male dominated. The male dominated ones are usually full of annoying fanboys who don't contribute shit.

I don't even know what gender ratio FIM fandom has. There are a lot of folks who're definitely guys, a few folks who're definitely girls, and a lot of folks where I don't really know or care whether they're guys or girls.

I... don't know. I don't care enough to find out people's gender.

It's not quite the whole fandoms as it is locations of the fandoms.
Anything on tumblr is female. Anywhere else is male. (for me)

I'm not that active in most fandoms, but I guess...actually most of my big ones are at least somewhat mixed, like Homestuck, MLP, Mass Effect and Pokemon

MCU seems to be largely female dominated but that's probably just the online fandom, because I think there are lots of dudes who like the movies/show

The only fandom I'm really in is comics, which is pretty male-dominated in general. However, I mostly involve myself in the corners of it that are evenly split or female dominated (yay, Carol Corps!).

I don't know, and I don't much care. To me it's more important whether the people in the fandom are open-minded, tolerant, and have a sense of humor. If this is the case I'll generally hang around a fanspace even if I've lost enthusiasm for the source canon.

Conversely, I just don't get fannish if I find a lot of snobs, enema-nozzles, or closed-minded, hypocritical idjits.

Of course, I'm a shipper and I tend to group myself with other shippers. That's neither a good nor bad thing.

I think I end up in female dominated fandoms, but often I end up down in a quiet corner RPing or reading shippy fanfic.
