Do your homework. Research online which brands will last you the longest. Get the opinions of others. Then print out the pages and put them in a folder. Take the folder along with you when you go to a store. And make sure you have a price limit in mind before you go and no matter what stick to it. At the store, tell them up front what your budget is and that you like such and such brand and you have the paperwork backing it up.

If they see that you've done your homework they are less likely to take you for a ride.
