You're find with continuing to look. Like sarilla said, it's just messaging. Sometimes you'll find after two or three that "nah, I'm not interested," so it'd take you a very long time to find someone you click with if you're only going at it one message/person at a time.

And no, spelling errors are a valid turn off in my book. Especially in the age of computers where it does the checking for you and everything has a red squiggly line under it if it's wrong.
