Re: Dry scalp

What's your hair texture like? It's very hard to advise without knowing -- how thick, how coarse, curly/straight, frizzy/limp, how fluffy/heavy, how long, how easy to get tangled, how greasy, etc?

My hair is pretty thick and wavy (and I'm Caucasian, if that means anything). I don't think it tangles easily, but it's pretty long (halfway down my back). I have "face framing" bangs, and those get pretty greasy by the second day (kind of clump together instead of looking soft). If were to guess, I'd say my hair is more heavy than fluffy, but then, it is long, so it might be tough to say. Does that stuff affect dry scalp (and treatment) though? I honestly had no idea.

Definitely, because it helps determine whether or not your hair can handle applications of light oil to your scalp and how much you need shampoo or conditioner and that sort of thing.

I would try both the ideas of the anon who recommends tea-tree oil. If that doesn't work, follow darkmanifest's ideas, and also see what happens if you only use shampoo a couple times a week. For your bangs, how about wash only your bangs everyday while you the shower or over the sink? Push your shower cap back and wash your bangs with a tiny bit of shampoo (but don't lather them down to your scalp) and rinse very well.
