Honestly? IKEA. My bedroom is full of IKEA furniture that has all lasted just fine for several years now, and the best part is that it's inexpensive and lightweight so moving with it won't be a hassle.

Well, the nearest IKEA is a six hour drive away so testing stuff is out of the question, but I'll keep it in mind if I ever move to a place that's closer.
