Where is that line drawn? How sustained does it have to be before it becomes bullying? Is it less harmful or not harmful at all if it falls on the side you deem to be "harassment"?

Bullying, to me, is using intimidating and/or caustic and/or harmful behavior to exert control or power over another person and tear them down. It doesn't have to happen more than once to fit that bill.

Two, maybe three times. The key is that it's repeated and targeted towards an individual. It usually goes much longer than that, though.

Don't get me wrong, I do think think that one time harassment should most definitely be taken seriously and can cause people to off themselves if it's particularly nasty, but it's a very different beast compared to something that's a calculated effort towards a someone.

Alright, I can see that. I think it's mainly a semantics argument at that point, as long as we both agree that that behavior is bad and not acceptable. I agree that repeated, targeted behavior has different motivations and patterns than a one-off comment.
