I think I get what you mean. People sometimes complain that anime features are too exaggerated ("If real people's eyes were that big, they'd look freaky!"), and that anatomy is really wonky... while simultaneously ignoring that western cartoon eyes are ALSO huge, and character designs are greatly exaggerated too. Anime is a cartoon at the end of the day, so if some character's waist is smaller than the eyes, who gives a shit.
