I know it's not that faithful to the book (but in fairness, I had already seen the movie half a dozen times before I actually ever read it), but I do not give a shit, it is so much more enjoyable for me to watch than the fucking Johnnim Burtepp piece of shitfuckery.
(Why the fuck would you give Willy Wonka that godawful ~omg daddy issues~ backstory? WHY?)
Also, that stupid song in the 2005 version makes me want to punch babies, whereas the Oompa Loompa song from the Wilder version is comfortingly nostalgic.
Er, anyway, no contest. Wilder version is superior, Tinnhy Depton version needs to be set on fire.
