I loved her too. I was so sad to see her go, she was so snarky not taking your bul*t kind of character. She also has great looks, very interesting. Among the nonsense that was the first season she was a beacon of light.

I've read that she was supposed to be an opposition to Picard, be someone who disagrees with him, and that she was similar to McCoy. I didn't notice the similarity until I read that, and then, yeah she kinda resembles him. Well, I liked McCoy, so...

Huh, that similarity never occurred to me before. That would explain why I don't like her, though.

(Blasphemy, I know!)

*le gasp!*

IIRC, Diana Muldur choose to leave after her season as Pulaski, rather than being fired.

Sounds nice, because I hate when the characters I like get killed off due to production's decission.

She resembles him a lot.

A basic character description of the two of them would be essentially the same.

Crotchety older doctor, who acts as an acidic foil and adviser to the captain, has an adversarial relationship with the emotionless non-human on the ship, and has a distrust of technology, especially transporters.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I got the resemblance after a few episodes. And I didn't mind a jot, because the McCoy character is a very entertaining character, and she was absolutely great at playing it <3

I loved her as well OP. She was much more interesting than insipid Beverley Crusher.

I wanted to like her, but her attitude toward Data just pissed me off.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
That was infuriating, but I suspect the whole point of writing that into her character was seeing her attitudes change as she got to know him better.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
she was so bloody rude about him, calling him "it", etc. ugh.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
This is definitely a secret you want to keep to yourself.

Imagine if they said they shipped Pulaski with Wesley, it would be fandom critical mass! And Neelix gets to be a peeper.

I don't know about favorite ever, but I did love her character. And to make it worse, I never had much use for Beverly Crusher. :(

Hi Diana, how is the voice acting business going?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked her, but I can see why people don't. She was meant to be a more challenging, slightly abrasive character and it was a refreshing change of pace to have an older woman fill this role in the crew.

She was better than Crusher.

Couldn't stand her but different characters appeal to different people.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked her too. I wish we had gotten more time to explore the character before Muldur left the show.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-22 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't like her much, but I think I could have grown to if she'd been fleshed out more. She was an interesting character.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
A gal who can get Moriarty all hot and bothered must have something going for her.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Moriarty was cool.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't dislike her. I was sad to see that the Pulaski/Moriarty thing was never resolved. There had to be more than one doctor on the ship. In a better world, there would have been room for both Crusher and Pulaski in the cast.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-23 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I liked her a lot. I liked her anti-android prejudice as a story element (even though Data is my favorite character) and felt like she balanced the cast really well.
