Don't read Crossed. It started off as Garth Ennis' take on the zombie genre -- essentially some kind of virus that creates a cross-shaped rash on the infected's face drives them to act out every evil thought they have, effectively becoming homicidal violent psychopaths who like rape.

That was bad enough. Then David Lapham wrote the 2nd and 3rd volumes.

David Lapham needs to be locked the fuck up.

Ennis' dark sense of humor really carried that first series didn't it? David Lapham's was just so much more joyless and grueling.
