Re: Why did I read that?? (tw: multiple ick factors)

I bought Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist because a book site I liked gave it a glowing review. They said it was funny and sexy with lots of queer positivity and teenagers that read realistically and not like teenagers written by adults. I figured there was no way to go wrong with that... except it turned out not to be true at all, especially the "realistic teenagers" part. That's what made me give up on reading it even though it was short, I couldn't stand how forced and phony the narration was. Those characters weren't realistic anything.

The book wasn't brain-bleach horrible, but I've never been so disappointed in a book I paid for based on nothing but one review.
