The Alchemist by Paulo Cuelho.

It's one of these New Age books told like a fable or fairytale (in a patronizing and condescending tone, imo). It the sort of book that aspires to be 'deep' and 'spiritual' and is actually deeply offensive.

It's basically "the Law of Attraction" along the lines of The Secret and shit like that - just belieeeeeve in yourself and the universe will correspond to your wishes!

Yeah, tell that to all those little kids with cancer, asshole.
