Eh. There are plenty of games coming out that are fantastical, low-budget, and graphically simple, if that's what you're into. There are also plenty of non-gritty games.

Myself, I think there's room to appreciate games of all types. I like a lot of games with hyperrealistic graphics; I also like a lot of games with cartoony or blocky or 8-bit graphics. And the awesome thing about the current market is that there's something out there for everyone.
