YOUR MISSION...

(Anonymous) 2014-06-25 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Sometime over the next hour, take (at least) 10 minutes, sit down and write on your story. Let it be bad. Let it be a scene that you're nowhere near on your current progress. Let it be all dialogue or no dialogue or full of misspellings. Just write it.

And if you want some accountability, report back with a sample. Stay anon and change characters names if you want in said sample if you're worried about it being traced back to you.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Above mission applies to anybody in need of writing motivation.

YOU CAN DO IT, TOO! :D

nayrt

I find it nigh impossible to write scenes out of order. Is that weird? Maybe after two scenes are finished I'll swap their order and write a transition, but I can only think things up in strict sequential order.

Not weird, just your way! For you, I'd say all of the above, except get your characters moving in a chronological order!

YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks!

That worked! I'm probably going to do a few more 10-minute sessions until I hit that "Must write furiously and not stop until ever!" mode. And now, I submit for your approval, proof of work:

The scene: After all they've been together as friends and lovers, Javier is about to give his first blowjob, is very nervous, and asked Kevin if he'd wear the blindfold that came with some sexy leather cuffs.

“With that? I'd like to keep my corneas, thanks.” Javier took a closer look at the blindfold. Indeed from the moment it had been removed from the box, it seemed to have become a magnet for dust, hair and tiny flecks of styrofoam. He didn't blame Kevin for not wanting it near his face.

“Yeah, I hear you.” he replied and tossed it aside. He looked at Kevin, so patient and willing to be with him however he wanted. He hated asking for anything more from him after everything they'd done. But he had to. “Could you...could you not look?”

Kevin nodded. He understood. Javier could see it in eyes. Those bright, blue eyes. He tipped his chin toward the closet.

“Grab a tie.”

I think it needs some work, but I'm going to let that go and just focus on getting scenes done. You rock, and I shall call you Motivation Anon!
