I find it nigh impossible to write scenes out of order. Is that weird? Maybe after two scenes are finished I'll swap their order and write a transition, but I can only think things up in strict sequential order.

Not weird, just your way! For you, I'd say all of the above, except get your characters moving in a chronological order!
