I agree about songfics. I get the whole, "hey this song inspired this story" and leave it at that. I definitely get inspired by songs but I haven't written a songfic since middle school. I hate when lyrics take over the story.

I also hate when just because the characters are opposite genders and super close means they are in love and everyone else calls them out for it. No that's not true. Because I hated it in real life when my best friend and I would get that from EVERYONE. Oh you two are so in love blahblah. No, we are not. We are just really close and that's it. Nothing is going on between us.

That seems to be a thing with fandom as a whole. But it occurs with all genders. Sometimes I think a large portion of fandom has never had a close friendship (or seen one). Just because someone glances at someone's lips or they casually touch each other, does not mean they want to be romantically involved.

I definitely wonder with some people the way they portray friendships in stories, have they never had a close friend like that. Another dear friend and I love to travel together and everyone teases us for it, nope, just buds. We would probably kill each other if we did anything more than travel.

Hell, if these people saw how my sister and I interact they would be convinced we were in a romantic relationship.
