Nearly every major character death in both the book and musical, but especially Fantine, Gavroche, and Javert.

It really surprised me how emotional I got with the character deaths in the movie. I'd always tried to listen to different cast recordings of the musical, but I could never connect with them! Then I saw the movie, and all of a sudden I was a huge Les Mis fan. It's kind of weird.

yes! i especially liked enjolras and grantaire's. they went down like badasses!

Eponine's death in the 10th Anniversary show killed me a lot more than I expected it to. It's just that Marius is following her through the last lines of the song, and then mid-line she sags down against his chest, and you can see in his face that he knows what just happened, and he has to sing the last word alone, knowing what it means. I don't even know, it just hit me out of nowhere. It's usually Javert's death that gets me, not Eponine's.
