this is actually one of my favorite movies! it's also the movie that scared me the most (i was 10 when i first saw it).

i think it holds up very well and doesn't look aged at all, which is amazing for this type of movie. i also love ripley; she was one of the few female characters i looked up to growing up.

i haven't seen any of the sequels, though. i've heard aliens is a pretty good action movie.

You should watch Aliens Special Edition and Alien 3 Director's Cut. (Especially A3DC -- while I admit A3 has a special place in my heart the DC is superior to the theatrical.)

Skip Alien Resurrection. There's no saving that garbage.

IDK, I don't remember what version of A3 I saw but the main things I took away from it were: 1) Thanks for crushing every hope from the end of Aliens in one hand-wavy sentence 2) It's boring as fuck.

On the other hand, while Alien Resurrection has the shittiest FX, it's way more imaginative than A3. I find it best to think of as an AU story, much like AVP. It certainly has a much more memorable supporting cast than A3 (and Prometheus, at that).

Agreed with all of this. A3 has its moments and Resurrection has its problems, but I ended up preferring the latter to the former overall.
