I don't mind fic where the only plot is internal character growth or relationship-building, but there has to be some kind of real interaction for me to care.

Hmm. I am a bit unsure of what you mean. Like, you don't enjoy it when characters continuously internally focus on a certain event/character unless it is central to the plot?

Late reply, I know.

I mean when a story's entire plot can be summed up that way. Like the entire story is "This thing happened. And then this thing happened and I felt this way. But I didn't do this, I did this other thing, and then this happened and I felt bad."
