I also unilaterally dislike most modern AU settings, like highschool/college AUs, coffeeshop AUs, even a bit more historical in Regency and steampunk AUs would get ignored by me.
One thing that I recently discovered that I can cite is fics where OC characters start to take over the whole story. I recently tried to read a GoT fic, and a couple of OC secondary characters turned up as helpers. Then another one turned up. And then another. And then they started turning out to be some sort of gods pretending to be mortals. And barring letting Rhaegar cut Gregor Clegane's head off, they have taken over the whole damn plot.
So, TL;DR, I hate when Sueish OCs slowly take over fics that were originally billed as being about the canon characters.
