Not here for the reading shaming.

People read different things for different reasons.

Like, my mom teaches elementary kids - of course she's going to read a shit ton of kid's books.

Lots of people read manga or comics

Lots of popular published fiction is absolutely awful. It doesn't offer a wide enough variety to people (let's count POCs, those characters with mental health issues, those with disabilities, gender differences, and just everything else) to satisfy/represent everyone, whereas fan fiction has a fuckton of diversity available and sometimes, the fan fic is better written than the published "literature".

Like, fuck off, at least they're reading!

There's so much worse stuff you can do with your time than read fanfiction/a genre or reading level you find beneath you.
