What you snap up depends on what you're hungry for for the moment. Sometimes, you're in the mood for take-out and sometimes you want to go to a fancy restaurant. Sometimes you don't have the time for a sitdown dinner, so you grab something to-go.

Sometimes I just want a poptart, which tends to be small and tasty, and hits the spot. When I want a good meal to really indulge my senses, I cook and light candles and the whole shebang.

Same thing applies with reading. Sometimes I want that tasty-junk-food-fanfic, and sometimes I want the three-course-meal-Shakespearean-play.

You do the same thing in other parts of your life, so stop pretending you're superior because you ONLY eat the five-star restaurant meals that is literature. Because sometimes you grab a cheeseburger at McDonald's when the mood strikes you. You just don't want to admit it.

It exists because people like it and want to devour it all the time; whether that's healthy for them or not is THEIR business.

And now I want a poptart, damnit.
