I can relate. It depends, though, because I've seen a few that actually made me feel better. Like ... it's a huge world, and most people don't give a fuck that some person who worked in entertainment died, but that person added something singificant to my life. Without knowing them, without ever having a conversation with them, they became someone I esteemed and wanted to listen to. The fact that they aren't going to keep being creative, active, having things to say, and keeping me company in a way as I go through life, feels like a personal loss. Even though there's obviously a lot I didn't know about them. Anyway, my point is that sometimes, in those cases, fan tributes with characters make me feel like I'm not mourning alone. And so I step lightly around them when they aren't for me, or rub me the wrong way.
