It's only a week away. What are your plans?

Might barbeque and set off a few fireworks if it doesn't end up raining.

Probably the same as every year - which is to say "Act like it's a normal day and do my best to ignore the idiots who insist on firing fire works in the street [particularly since they seem to love shooting them *over* our house and terrify our cats.]

Gonna have a picnic and fireworks at the in-laws.

Going to Florida for my grandpa's birthday and the 4th! A bunch of my family will be there so I'm looking forward to it. c:

Nothing. Hopefully my boss will want to work at least half of that day.

I'm Canadian, but July 4th is my birthday. You're totally allowed to join in with the Americans in celebrating my birth?

It's really nice of them, honestly, tears are coming to my eyes just thinking about it.

My sister and her family are coming down, yaaaay! We usually don't do anything like a party, our only tradition is watching 1776.

My friend's family usually has a barbeque and I have gone many times but I don't know if it's on this year, if my friends will be there (most of them are going to AnimeExpo), and what I'll be doing with my sister. But these friends live closer to the foothills so going up the fire road behind their street is a really great way to see every fireworks show in the Valley!

Watch Apocalypse Now Redux the night before (tradition in my house) and probably go to my cousin's.

Not sure, but probably visit my parents and go to my grandfather's grave like we do every year, since it's the anniversary of his death (he died before I was born, so I never knew him personally, but my parents have been doing it as long as I can remember).

Other than that, I have no idea.

Family/friends cookout. A few of them have been through some rough things as of late, so I'm hoping it'll be a nice break from crap for them.

... I'm such a Hufflepuff.

Oh I need to check if the Twilight Zone marathon is going to be on!

If it is then that's what I'll be doing, and maybe I'll do my own marathon if it's not. My parents are going down to NYC for a Mets game so I'll be home alone.

Taking some friends to the coast where we're going to watch the fireworks display they pull off every year. :3

Visit family, eat food, bonfire (coal taters?), fireworks, hope my brothers don't set themselves on fire.

None, I'm not American. I must say, if I ever come over t the right time, I'd love to experience some of the festivities!

Going to my cousin's and cracking open a bottle of mead we've been saving. Two things had to happen before it was opened: 1) my cousin and his wife had to have their twins; and 2) my husband had to land a job as an EMT. Condition two has finally been met. It's pure coincidence that we'll be celebrating on the Fourth.

Nothing. We never do anything for Fourth of July anymore. If I'm feeling spirited I'll cook hotdogs, otherwise it's just another day.

At least two fireworks shows. I think the one on the beach of Lake Michigan I go to every year is on Thursday this year, which frees me up on the actual 4th, and I'm tempted to go over the other direction to the gorgeous waterfall display with colored lights I haven't visited since I was a little kid with my Grandma Van, now deceased. But depending on how I feel, I may stay closer to home on the 4th and just drive over a couple miles to the local high school, pull up a blanket on the lawn, and watch the fireworks there.

Getting pissed off because people are STILL setting off fireworks sold for Canada Day.

Staying inside and dealing with the Nervous!Dog! I don't mind the 4th or the fireworks, but they get tiresome after awhile (and people are already doing them here), and the dog goes nuts, barking and terrified, so....

Plus, while i'm an American and proud of that, i find the whole flag-waving over the top business of the 4th pretty meh.

My town celebrates the Saturday before so we're celebrating tomorrow with a giant party at my house and they light fireworks off at the end of my street so everyone comes over and it's super fun. I love this holiday sooooooooo much.

Staying far, far away from internet places that I know are full of Americans. The American patriotism is slightly disturbing in the best of days and thw worst in that day.
