Personally of all the Powerpuff Girls, I'd go with Blossom being trans. Not sure why... Oh and Bubbles is gay. :)

I agree that gender essentialism is annoying. Though it gets more complicated when people are using their own experiences and end up coming up with the same headcanons as people who are just doing what you're talking about here.

I hate how I'm considered inherently more sexual than a straight person. Little kids have innocent crushes. Sometimes they are on members of the same sex. Deal with it.

One of my first ever crushes was on another little girl back when I was in like 2nd grade. Like it or not, kids have crushes too.

And screw the whole 'they're just babies! they can't be gay or trans! that's ~wrong' mentality. Both gender identity and sexual orientation can be realized in children as early as 4 yrs old. Suck it.

Why is it creepy to see a kindergartner as potentially being trans and not straight? Do you find trans and gay people creepy?

Being a kindergartener does not make one cis and straight.

You'd likely have no clue who is or isn't any of the above, but the fact that adult people are gay, trans, etc. shows that not all of the kindergarteners are actually cis and straight.

I had my first crush when I was 8. It consisted of imagining I was kissing (and ONLY kissing - closed-mouth kisses too) and hugging and holding hands with the object of my crush.

I cannot see why a kid a couple of years younger cannot have a similar crush, and daydream of similar affectionate actions.
