Hah. Fics with inter-species relationships are bestiality. A/B/O generally involves all humans. Dean/Castiel? That is technically bestiality (as is all fantasy creatures with a human).

I imagine OP is on about the knotting aspect of the universe?

I read a few when they first became huge (not my cup of tea, and they all seemed either really rapey or totally "TAKE ME NOW" and…yeah. As I said, not my cup of tea) and was a bit perplexed about how a big basis for the universe involved cat mating behavior ("I hate sex, but I must have it!") and dog mating physiology.

By that logic wouldn't have sex with anyone that has features that are usually confined to a separate species be bestiality? Having sex with Spider Man would be bestiality.

Yes, but from what I've read (as I said, it's not a lot), the behaviors are completely removed from human mating behavior, between the imperative to mate (Omegas are ferrets!), the knotting, and the common feature of pain as part of the bonding process. If the sex with Spiderman involved Spidey ejaculating onto a wall and then picking it up to manual shove it into Mary Jane's vagina (or performing auto-fellatio on himself and then going down on her) then, yes, that would have bestial connotations. If his penis is going through her vulva into her vagina and thrusting back and forth then it's still human sex, even if she's tied up with his silk at the time or something similar.

Anyway, I have no horse in this race. But I do see how, seeing as traits were obviously borrowed from animal reproduction for the ABO universe, someone could think it was bestial in nature.

The thing about a/b/o is that it's a combination of kinks, none of which are bestiality. The mating thing is basically sex pollen. The knotting thing is related to all alien-genital fics before it. I've also never seen the pain aspect, but even if I had, that's probably the thing that's the least removed from human behavior, considering sadomasochism is a real-life thing.

Any time someone says a/b/o is bestiality, all it really tells me is they don't know enough about the kink to even complain properly.

"The knotting thing is related to all alien-genital fics before it. "

Eh, I don't know, anon, I have seen several a/b/o fans investigating and discussing about canine anatomy because they wanted to get the details ~right~

And that was the moment I decided to avoid a/o/b fics not matter what.

That's interesting, but really no different from a discussion I saw about possible Vulcan penises as related to tentacles (and, in one special occasion, fish. Or cats, which is more alarming than the knotting thing in my opinion.) Alien penises are still generally based on some real-life thing.

On that note, I'd like to bring up anyone/Spock, from Star Trek. If we're basing our bestiality complaints on different species having different junk, exactly 1000% of fics make those pairings bestiality.

And vulcans have different mating practices.

Fics with inter-species relationships are bestiality.

Is a donkey mating with a horse bestiality too then?
kaijinscendre: (Default)

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2014-06-28 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends. In that story do the horses consider donkeys to be a separate species (possibly less sentient)?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-28 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure they simply think it's something that smells nice when it's in heat and they want to stick their penis inside it. SO i dunno

It is all relative. If dogs had a concept of bestiality, they would think that a dog mating with a cat is bestiality.

(Anonymous) 2014-06-28 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
depends, is the donkey or the horse an otherkin?

(Anonymous) 2014-06-28 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
this is normal reality, nothing special.

I think you missed the joke. ;)

...Er...You do realize that bestiality is actually defined as a human having sex with an "lower animal"*, not "A human and anything that isn't human", right? So a human and a cow [or say...unicorn, depending on mythology it's being drawn from] is a more apt example than a human and an angel.

For the record, I do know I sound like a dick - and I *do* apologize for that - this is just one those things that always ends up making me twitch for some reason when it happens.

*in the sense that they don't have the intelligence to knowingly and fully give consent

So a human having sex with a unicorn that has human intellegence (maybe it can speak telepathically) is not bestially? How about a human having sex with like a horse or dog Smaug?

I have, in my time in the Final Fantasy VII fandom, read Red XIII porn (Red XIII is a large intelligent talking cat). I think of it as "consensual bestiality", because Red XIII involved is intelligent enough to understand and consent, but can still be branded as "bestial" in form.

I also consider animagus porn in a similar light, because the animagus form is bestial, but the person in that form is still intelligent enough to consent (Padfoot porn has happened in the HP fandom).

I suppose it depends on exactly how much you believe intelligence trumps physical form. I wouldn't consider Dean/Cas bestiality because Castiel is wearing a human form, even though his intelligence level is likely far above Dean's. I also wouldn't count something as bestiality if an intelligent magical beast transforms into a human form to have sex with a human (it would be interspecies though). Smaug turning into a dog though? Bestiality in my rating system.

I have that book somewhere. Never read it, but it came through the library as a donation and I couldn't NOT pick it up. I mean...sexy unicorn. What.

Wait. There is a book? Huh.
