Is this because you don't like those franchises, or because you don't like the MCU? I agree that they're better separate, but I'm curious.

As said above, I didn't really enjoy my brief time in the MCU fandom and now actively avoid it when I can. But XMFC is what got me into superhero movies, and I actually really liked the new Spider-Man movies, so I'm glad both franchises are separate.

It's like liking French fries but not wanting them on your pizza.

That's a perfectly good reason, if you ask me. :) I personally don't want them combined because I really dislike anything that has an excessive amount of characters (also why I don't really like crossovers) and because I don't think they mesh very well. Fortunately, real life seems to be on our side. ;)
