Seems strange. So you're only open to reviews you like? I don't judge, but reallly? Readers can enjoy a story without 'getting' the author's point.

I think the OP is referring to "reviews" like:

Good story, but WHY OH WHY DID YOU PUT A WITH B? DON'T YOU KNOW B/C IS CANON?! HOW DARE YOU PAIR A AND B!?!111!!!!

OP isn't talking about reviews that are critical about how they wrote their story. OP is talking about reviews that whine about which story they chose to write in the first place. "You should've had A get together with C, B is awful!" or "Why don't you write a D/E story? That would be much hotter."

Some reviewers fail to realize that, unless they are participating in a fic exchange, a kinkmeme, or a fandom charity auction, they don't get to demand that authors write stories tailored to their shipping/kink/character preferences, and bash them for writing other stories instead.

And I get very annoyed when a reviewer critiques a story as if they know better than the author when in fact they don't write themself. It's the case of - you know better? then do it yourself. Sorry for ranting, but I've seen this thing just today.
