Re: Why on Earth am I still watching this crap?

If there's absolutely nothing I enjoy, I'll stop watching.

Usually, when I keep watching something I don't like, it's because there are elements of it that I really love. But that's also the point at which I become totally ruthless about skipping episodes - if I'm only watching because of an actor I love or because of certain elements of the series, at some point, I'm not going to force myself to sit through the crappy parts. I just don't care enough.

Doesn't missing part of the plot make you lose interest even more? I guess it wouldn't matter if all the episodes are standalones, but you'd have a harder time with the main plot (assuming there is one).

Yeah, I see where you're coming from, but to be honest I can't really think of a case where I continued to care about the main plot and lost interest in other elements of the show. Usually if I'm sticking around for something it's for standalone episodes or specific characters and the main plot is the first thing to go.

Maybe something like Twin Peaks comes the closest to that? But I still managed to power through the bad parts of Twin Peaks so IDK.

Same. I am not loyal at all, lol.
